民权合规部门 (CRCB)

The Civil Rights Compliance Branch is committed to the Department’s overall compliance with federal, state departmental administrative rules policies, which strictly prohibit any form 歧视, including harassment and/or retaliation based upon a protected class, as it relates to students, employees members the public who access our services, programs activities. 

Protected classes include: race; sex, including gender identity gender expression; age; religion; color; ancestry; sexual orientation; citizenship; national origin; military/veteran status; disability; marital/civil union status; arrest court record; genetic information; credit history; domestic or sexual violence victim status. The CRCB oversees the Department’s compliance with federal laws that include, but are not limited to:

The CRCB also coordinates responds on behalf the Department to complaints that have been filed by individual employees /or parents with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC); the Hawaiʻi Civil Rights Commission (HCRC); the U.S. Department 教育, 民权办公室(OCR)。

When required, the CRCB follows up with corrective action plans compliance requirements with OCR, EEOC, HCRC, the U.S. Department 正义; 辦公室 the State Director for Career Technical Education; coordinates data requests other compliance requirements with the state 辦公室 语言访问。

Please complete the Form RA-1 Form RA-3 for medical accommodation requests. For state-level employees, requests may be submitted to the CRCB ADA specialist. For all other employees, requests may be submitted to the applicable CRCB specialist for the complex area.

第九条 教育修正案 1972年禁止 歧视 based on sex in schools colleges receiving federal funding. Sex-based 歧视 includes both sexual harassment and gender-based harassment. Sexual harassment is unwanted verbal, - 言语或身体行为 a sexual nature. Gender-based harassment is unwelcome conduct based on the individual’s actual or perceived sex, includes harassment based on gender identity and non-符合刻板观念 femininity masculinity. Title IX also covers gender equity in school athletic programs.

To be covered by the ADA, one must have a disability, which is defined as a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, a person who has a history or record 本身有此类障碍,或被他人视为有此类障碍的人。
