The Hawaiʻi State Department of Education’s state offices are responsible for providing departmental support to complex areas and schools statewide. Services span areas that include curriculum, vision, compliance with state and federal regulations, academic testing, education improvement, fiscal management, human resources and facilities maintenance.

The Office of the Superintendent leads Hawaiʻi’s public school system, ensuring effective administration and alignment with state laws and Board of Education policies. This office sets the vision for educational success, driving efforts to enhance student outcomes across the state. It is supported by deputy superintendents overseeing three areas: Academics, Operations, and Strategy and Administration.
