The National School Lunch Program is a federally assisted meal program in public 그리고 nonprofit private schools 그리고 residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day. The program is administered locally by the Department’s School Food Services Branch.

Effective for the school year 2026-27, the Department has expanded its free meal eligibility to families with household incomes at or below 300% of the federal poverty level (ALICE households) under Act 139 (Session Laws of Hawaiʻi 2025). The expansion builds on the first phase of the law, implemented during the 2025–26 school year, which eliminated meal charges for students who qualified for reduced-price meals under the National School Lunch Program. Eligible students will receive one free breakfast 그리고 one free lunch each school day.

If a student would like to purchase a second meal or a la carte items such as milk, funds will need to be deposited into their account. Online payment is available at ezschoolpay.com.

Prices for student second meals and adult meals at breakfast 그리고 lunch, have increased to $3.50 for breakfast 그리고 $7.50 for lunch.
