Asociación de padres, maestros y estudiantes del estado de Hawái

The Hawaiʻi State Parent Teacher Student Association (HSPTSA) is a volunteer advocacy group supporting students through parent, teacher and community involvement. It provides resources, leadership training and opportunities to engage both in and out of the classroom.

ABOUT

Success and support of all students begin at home. The Hawaiʻi State Parent Teacher Student Association (HSPTSA) is a volunteer advocacy organization that is open to anyone in the community. The organization provides resources outside of the regular educational environment for parents, teachers and students so that your children can excel both in and out of the classroom. Being a part of your child’s educational journey is a great way to volunteer, meet other parents, get connected with what is happening in your school and support the school community. Ask how you can get involved!

HSPTSA Mission

  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school and community.
  • To raise the standards of home life.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • To build close relationships between home and school so that parents and teachers may cooperate in the education of youth.

Ways to Volunteer

  • Help the HSPTSA engage in advocacy for children in schools, communities, before government bodies and other organizations making decisions affecting children.
  • Contact local legislators or become a local unit legislative chair.
  • Work with the school to implement a strong family engagement policy.
