Draft of updated Strategic Plan open for comment through Oct. 31
Over the past six months, students, educators, parents, and community members have shared their vision of student success for our Strategic Plan.
Your voices have come together to help us shape the draft of the Joint Department of Education and Board of Education 2017–2020 Strategic Plan. Earlier today, the draft was presented to the Board of Education and the public at the October 18, 2016 Board of Education General Business Meeting (PDF). The draft will be open for public comment through October 31, 2016.
We all hold a stake in public education, and we need your review of the draft to help us finalize the priorities that will shape our schools over the next few years. Please participate in the public comment period by following this link: https://spark.adobe.com/page/MAGelnmpXBbcH
As you review the draft of the plan, click the Public Comment buttons throughout to provide your feedback.
As we review your feedback to finalize our Strategic Plan, we will use it to guide our decisions for our ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) State Plan. The draft framework for our ESSA State Plan will be presented to the Board of Education on November 15, 2016.
The finalized 2017-2020 Strategic Plan will be presented to the Board of Education on December 6, 2016 and set for implementation in the 2017–2018 school year.
