A+ registration for HIDOE families opens <strong>Wednesday, April 22, 3 p.m.<\/strong> \u2014 both online and in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u5408\u683c<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A+ programs provide safe, supervised after-school care for public elementary students (Grades K-6) whose parents or guardians are working, attending school, or participating in job training programs during after-school hours.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Families must submit proof of eligibility for both parents or legal guardians \u2014 regardless of marital status \u2014 to register for A+. Families should gather the following required documents prior to registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For employed parents<\/strong>: Current pay stubs (dated within the past 30 days) or a letter from an employer verifying work hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For self-employed\/independent contractors:<\/strong> General Excise Tax (GET) license <strong>\u548c <\/strong>either a tax return with Schedule C or a recent business checking account statement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For parents attending school:<\/strong> A class schedule on official school letterhead displaying the student&#8217;s name, school and course schedule.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For parents in job training programs:<\/strong> A DHS_728 First-to-Work approval letter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If applicable, custody documents and proof of legal guardianship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If applicable, foster parent documents (must be resubmitted each school year).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Register<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registering online<\/strong> is the fastest and most efficient way to register. Register at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>HIDOE A+ website: <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiicommunityengagement.com\/after-school-plus\/\">https:\/\/hawaiicommunityengagement.com\/after-school-plus\/<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or at the A+ provider\u2019s website: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ymcahonolulu.org\/programs\/kids-teens-young-adults-families\/kids\/before-after-school\/afterschool-program\">YMCA of Honolulu<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kamaainakids.com\/aplus-program\"> Kama\u02bb\u0101ina Kids<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dreamcohawaii.org\/programs.html\">Dream Co.<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mauiymca.org\/programs\/before-after-school\/\">Maui YMCA<\/a>).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Or <strong>register in-person<\/strong> at your child\u2019s A+ school site. Registration forms and Parent Handbooks can be downloaded from the <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiicommunityengagement.com\/after-school-plus\/\">HIDOE A+ website<\/a>, or from your respective A+ provider\u2019s website. Printed copies will also be available at school sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To avoid duplicate registrations, families are asked to have only one household member submit the online application. While online capacity is expanded to handle high traffic, both <strong>online and in-person registrations will be date- and time-stamped and processed in the order received<\/strong>. Incomplete applications may experience delays, and space may fill before enrollment is confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A+ Program Fees<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the 2026-27 school year, the A+ program monthly fee is $240. Monthly fees are due on the first program day of each month.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Income-eligible families may apply for financial assistance through the state Department of Human Services\u2019 A+ subsidy program, which can help offset the monthly program fee.
