Typically, the deadline for budget submission for the Governor\u2019s review is in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u9019 <a href=\"https:\/\/boe.hawaii.gov\/agendas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Board of Education (BOE)<\/a> approves the Department&#8217;s budgetary plan annually around October roughly 8<br>months prior to the upcoming fiscal year. The budget is then reviewed and modified by the state Department of Budget and Finance before submission to the Governor and then later to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capitol.hawaii.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Legislature<\/a> when its session begins in January. Once the budget is approved, normally late May, and becomes law, the allocation process distributes funds throughout the department.
