Multilingualism creates learning environments that draw from the rich linguistic diversity and cultural strengths of Hawai\u02bbi\u2019s students. The BOE recognizes the important role of multilingualism in providing a meaningful and equitable education for student achievement. The BOE\u2019s Multilingualism for Equitable Education Policy\u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/boe.hawaii.gov\/policies\/Board%20Policies\/Multilingualism%20for%20Equitable%20Education.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ch\u00ednh s\u00e1ch 105-14 (PDF)<\/a>\u2014h\u01b0\u1edbng d\u1eabn HIDOE v\u00e0 c\u00e1c tr\u01b0\u1eddng h\u1ecdc c\u1ee7a m\u00ecnh ti\u1ebfp nh\u1eadn, th\u00fac \u0111\u1ea9y v\u00e0 duy tr\u00ec ch\u1ee7 ngh\u0129a \u0111a ng\u00f4n ng\u1eef v\u00e0 \u0111a v\u0103n h\u00f3a \u0111\u1ec3 h\u1ed7 tr\u1ee3 ng\u01b0\u1eddi h\u1ecdc, gia \u0111\u00ecnh v\u00e0 c\u1ed9ng \u0111\u1ed3ng.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hawai\u02bbi is multicultural and multilingual. There are two official state languages\u2014Hawaiian and English. Up to 14% of students have been identified as <a href=\"\/vi\/academics\/english-learner-program\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"44\">Ng\u01b0\u1eddi h\u1ecdc ti\u1ebfng Anh<\/a> (EL) trong n\u0103m n\u0103m qua; n\u0103m ng\u00f4n ng\u1eef \u0111\u01b0\u1ee3c n\u00f3i nhi\u1ec1u nh\u1ea5t \u1edf nh\u00e0 l\u00e0 ti\u1ebfng Ilokano, ti\u1ebfng Chuuk, ti\u1ebfng Marshall, ti\u1ebfng Tagalog v\u00e0 ti\u1ebfng T\u00e2y Ban Nha.
