The Department\u2019s employee housing in Lahaina<\/a> is expected to open in March 2026. The complex is designed to help attract and keep great teachers and staff, especially in West Maui. The project is made possible through state funding, including strong support from Gov. Josh Green, M.D., as well as capital improvement funds secured through the legislature and the Major Disaster Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Security deposit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      • A base security deposit shall be required from all tenants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • If the tenant has 1 pet, an additional $500 deposit shall be required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • If the tenant has 2 pets, an additional $1,000 shall be required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Service and assistant animals are not considered pets and no additional deposit shall be required for those animals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
