The complex is designed to help attract and keep great teachers and staff, especially in West Maui. The project is made possible through state funding, including strong support from Gov. Josh Green, M.D., as well as capital improvement funds secured through the legislature and the Major Disaster Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information including the online application portal is available on the HIDOE&#8217;s staff intranet. Priority will be given based on employees\u2019 work location, employees whose housing was impacted by the 2023 wildfires, years of service, and household income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Employees may apply as individuals or family households. Unrelated employees may share a two-bedroom unit; these employees should apply individually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">House Rules Highlights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tenants must be full-time HIDOE employees. Household occupants may also include the employee\u2019s spouse or significant other, and\/or dependents (up to the maximum occupancy of a unit).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Residency in HIDOE employee workforce housing is limited to two years with few exceptions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pets may be allowed, though there are limitations on the number and types of pets.
