Multilingualism creates learning environments that draw from the rich linguistic diversity and cultural strengths of Hawai\u02bbi\u2019s students. The BOE recognizes the important role of multilingualism in providing a meaningful and equitable education for student achievement. There are two official state languages\u2014Hawaiian and English.
