Hawai\u2018i public schools had a proud showing at this years\u2019 National Career Academy Coalition conference held earlier this month in Tucson, Arizona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hawai\u2018i public schools had a proud showing at this years\u2019 National Career Academy Coalition<\/a> (NCAC) conference held earlier this month in Tucson, Arizona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NCAC recognizes college and career academies that show exemplary performance in the National Standard of Practice<\/a> (NSOP) through a review and accreditation process. Academies can earn a rating of: model with distinction, model, certified or in progress. 

To reach the model with distinction level \u2013 the highest level of recognition \u2013 a school\u2019s career academy must meet or exceed proficiency in all 10 NSOP criterias. At this year\u2019s conference, 10 academies across three HIDOE high schools earned model recognition and two academies at a fourth high school were recognized as model academies with distinction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Wallace Rider Farrington High, James Campbell High, Ka\u2018\u016b High & P\u0101hala Elementary, Kohala High, Pearl City High, Wai\u0101kea High, Waipahu High and the Pearl City-Waipahu Complex Area represented Hawai\u2018i by sharing their best practices, journey toward school improvement, and improving the educational experiences for students in NCAC conference presentations.\u00a0
