or&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your child transitions to a different school level (for example, from elementary to middle school).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please notify us if: \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your child is enrolling in a private school; or&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your family relocates outside of Hawai\u02bbi.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ending homeschooling<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details intro is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>How can I end homeschooling?<\/summary>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Notify the school principal to whom you have submitted your Form 4140\/notice of intent to homeschool that you will be ending homeschooling. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You may do so either in writing or verbally.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let the school know where your child will be going &#8211; public school, charter school, private school, moving out of Hawai\u02bbi, or an alternative educational program.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details intro is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>What grade level will my elementary child be placed in after homeschooling has ended?<\/summary>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;For grades 1-8, your child will be re-enrolled in the appropriate grade level based on their birth date (age).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High school-aged students will be enrolled in the 9th grade. No credits are earned while a student is homeschooled.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students over the age of 20 on the first day of school are not eligible to attend public school.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students identified with a disability under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act may be re-evaluated when re-enrolled in public school to determine appropriate programming and placement.
